Peace and the rights of total equality and freedom go hand in hand. The idea of peace seems so simple. Yet, it has become the most complicated dish to cook in the world's kitchen. When total peace is missing, by which I mean there is a lack of kindness towards fellow human beings, the communities in the world live in an insecure state. This insecurity ultimately leads to fear. Fear leads away from peace.

In my humble opinion, true democracy enables a state to live in peace by giving everyone a voice and providing a platform to express that voice. When human beings are able to put their voices into action, they can enjoy the fruits of the world, leaving no place for dictators and oppressors. Of course, conflict arises because points of view and needs are different. But instead of denying the right to another viewpoint, I'd rather have an opportunity to express my voice, listen to another's stance and create open dialogue. If I am not willing to listen to another voice, then I will be lead into suppressing that voice and in turn escalating our relationship into a state of insecurity and fear.
We already have an international day for peace. Let's make an international day for democracy as well. Let us infuse peace with democracy so that we are able to live in complete harmony in the world. In my personal world, my family practices the ideals of open dialogue within the walls of our home. Now, it is my turn to begin to advocate peace and true democracy in my community.

Peace is the goal and democracy is the keeper of the goal.
